Thinking about bringing the brewery indoors, looking to hear opinions and options. Mostly looking for boil options, not doing all grain yet. BoilCoil? DIY it? Prebuilt? Let's hear what ya got.

I would not do it unless you are at 240v.  I personally like the DIY version because I can fix anything that goes wrong at any point on it since I built it but I know that no all are into that.

Some on here have built or followed some of these plans https://www.theelectricbrewery.com/

I think if I was starting out I would think long and hard about just doing a single vessel electric BIAB system.  IMO it would be simplicity at its best.

That Blichmann stuff looks nice but pricey.  I really don't know how well an induction burner would do and would assume 240v would be needed.

My stuff is all DIY.

Induction will work.  A guy I work with was using that but it was a 240v unit.

Any idea what he was using for a kettle?

Induction may be a possibility. I've got the juice, there are 2 240v circuits in the house and one in the garage so I'm sure I could work something out.

My bayou classic kettle is not magnetic so I guess I'd need a new one, but that's not a deal breaker.

Look at CraftBeerPi for brewery controller software. I will have pcb boards available in Feb. It runs off a Raspberry Pi and is open source.

This is what I was talking about for a BIAB set up.  I think it can be DIY'd for less than a grand but it all depends if you want to tinker or turn key.

what keeps the wort from channeling straight from top to bottom?  seems like you could get hot and cold parts of the mash.

Pretty sure that system recirculates. "The Wort Hog EBC-130 is our newest controller.  It features automatic temp control in Mash mode, and linear power control in Boil mode, timer functions, temp alarm, and more.  "

I really see the hot and cold spots no different than a no-sparge mash in a cooler.  I am also do not believe channeling is an issue with BIAB.

I just mean how the area opposite the pickup tube could never really get the heated mash liquid near it. Maybe not a big issue. I'm def no expert on mash systems with recirculation.

seeing the heating coil goes all the way around I do not see the concern.

ah - I didn't get that the heating element was in the kettle.  I was thinking it was inline somewhere.  guess that makes more sense since this thing is for boiling the wort too

MtnBrewer built an electric system as well, perhaps he'll weigh in.

I am pretty sure Mtn's if from the electric brewery.  He bought the turnkey package if I remember right.  There are a few of us on here with all electric systems.
