which is why they've started pelletizing the powder. Just got some today.

Can you expand on this? Do you mean they are beating the powder finer?

rather than just leaving it as powder the compress it into pellets.  At least that's my understanding.  Apparently people were finding the powder hard to use.

That makes a lot more sense than my take.  I did read on advantage of the powder was how fast the extraction was.  I am not sure if powder on my scale will be an issue but I can see at 30 bbls it being a PITA.

When we interviewed the owner of Block 15 about Sticky Hands, he mentioned that they had to use some (non cryo) pellets along with the powder in order to get it to disperse.

That compares to the blog post be Scott Janish on the powder. I plan to do 50/50 powder and pellets.

I will give a listen to the Block 15 segment though.

Here it is in the WP.  I had to use a spoon to get it to drop some, after that there was no issue.

The hydro sample was pretty clear.  This was about 2 hours latter when I pitched.

When I dry hopped with it I put it in the receiving keg and filled on top of it and once done I popped the lid to take a look and realized that the Cryo Hop powered was just floating on top.  I had assumed it would have incorporated in while filling.  Maybe next time I will need to shake and move the keg as it is filling but this time I just put the lid back on, hit it with CO2 and gave it a good roll on the floor.  So this beer will have Cryo in the WP, active ferm dry hop and keg dry hop.  I was a bit surprised at the pre-keg sample, I would have expected more aroma but I will leave finial judgment till it is carbed and ready to go.

Have you tried this yet?  I am not sure if it was the Pearl base malt, the 1318 or the cryo hops but after this has been on tap for a bit it is kind of meh.

I assumed, and maybe incorrectly, that I would have a lot more aroma.  It is lacking in aroma, hop flavor is OK but the beer also seems a bit "flabby" like I needed more SO4.

seems reasonable.  I haven't gone quite that high on Cl but I've come close - I think about 80ppm.

I'm not getting as much from the cryo DH as I would have expected.  But I didn't use a whole lot, either since I wasn't sure how it would react.  Otherwise, the beer I made is exactly what I wanted.

I've also got some debittered leaf that I'm trying to figure out what to do with.

1 pack, which IIRC is an oz.  Maybe less...I didn't weigh it.

Thanks.

I did 1 oz of powder and 1 oz of pellets at day 4 and the same in the brite keg.  With 4 oz I expected a lot more aroma.

Yep.  I've got so much cryo on hand at the moment that I intend to go a lot heavier.  Hoping to brew soon, but life....
