I guess so. As much as I want that brilliant clear and light Chil's beer, I just don't trust getting a watery beer by my own handiwork.
give yourself some credit, yo!

The batch went as planned and the wort is a light golden yellow and a tad sweeter than I expected. My very typical efficiency is .65.
1.053 was estimated. 1.060 was achieved. So much for a "lighter" lager haha.
Any ideas why I'm so efficient today

So, having never messed with water other than lactic additions, I used 50% distilled and added some calcium. I mashed overnight.

No crystal malts probably=better conversion per lb/grain. I get higher efficiency with base malt only as well. Plus prolly better pH management. A 3 step mash would blow your mind. I was always 70% with a single infusion. I have reached 92% with certain grain bills and a step mash and avg 85+%.
