Only my third brew this year. Centennial IPA, heading to mash soon...

Enjoying the crunchy , fresh grains before the mill..

I've been doing that too. Maybe I'll set some out on the bar as a snack. :D

I have three beers in primary at the moment (English Bitter, APA, Amber Lager) so I'm not going to brew until sometime next week, methinks. I have 4 kegs in the draft fridges at the moment that are all probably in the 10% to 20% full range... they're all going to be emptied over the next week and so 'on-deck' kegs will take their place and these beers in primary will be kegged.

Keg cleaning and airlock sniffing for me. I dropped the temp on my double batch of Marzen this morning and will gel it on Sunday. May possibly quick carb a corny of it for Thanksgiving.

Next Sunday I'm doing a double Kolsch.

Schwarzbier using harvested S-182 from Ken's Vienna recipe, which is excellent BTW! Pils, Munich II, Carafa special I & II, Caramunich II and chocolate wheat.

Glad to hear the Vienna came out well. I have a batch kegged, cold and carbed and sitting in my "on-deck" fridge. That batch was made with S-189 too. Cheers.

German pils on deck for tomorrow.

Water is measured, filtered, and salts/lactic acid additions are in the mash and sparge water buckets.  Grain will be measured and crushed while the strike water heats.

I've also got wings prepped for grilling and devouring during tomorrow's brewday.

Brewing is hungry work, and I don't intend to starve.

German pils is in the primary.

And the wings were excellent; pics are in the PH, in BFB's thread about being off work and in this week.

Those look excellent!  I was channeling you on Saturday as I was grilling up 10#'s of wings for my daughters birthday party.  I just wish I was not sick and could have enjoyed, tasted, them!

Thanks drez; today's batch turned out quite well.  Dovetailing making the wings and keeping a brewday on track was an exercise in time mgmt and plate-spinning.

I'm getting over a cold/sinus thing myself, and I figured something spicy would be just the ticket to aiding in recovery.

Seemed to do the trick, and as I've said in the PH, the research will/must continue.

From your lips to God's ears.

Wings be a bit spendy, but when they turn out right, pretty damn tasty.

Designed a recipe for tomorrow. Based loosely on an old recipe. Going to add a small amount of brown sugar( have not done that forever) and lean towards the bitter side of balance on hops, with two different types of lower lovibond Crystal malts..( hoping complexity).

I had a brew i made in 2011 that this is based on. Everyone loved this brew, and my niece said it was the best tasting beer she ever had.. Anyhow, looking forward to find that snap in the old home brewery...
